A long cypress-lined drive takes you into Dievole, a private eight hundred acre vineyard estate located in majestic Chianti Classico hill country, close to Vagliagli.

Villa Dievole is set in tranquil surroundings, nestled in the beautiful Tuscan hills. Cypress and olive trees, far-reaching vineyards, hidden villages and magnificent medieval buildings dominate the landscape. Reputed wines have been produced at Dievole for over 900 years.

Hotel Facilities
The complex offers a 400-hectare garden, swimming pool, fitness trails of 3 and 8 km, mountain bike rental, walking and riding excursions and visits to wine cellars with wine and oil tastings.

Doppia Comfort
The former stable block, close to the little 15th century chapel is now divided into four comfortable double bedrooms (3 with king-size bed and one with twin beds), each about 30 m2 with kitchenette, bathroom, sitting area, TV and CD player (ideal for two guests).

Doppia Superior
The double rooms Superior are around 28-34 m2, located on the second floor of the Villa. Comfortably furnished with a king-size bed and wardrobe, bathroom, a small fridge, TV and CD player.

Suite Villa
This suite is 80 m2, located on the first floor of the Villa. It has a twin bedded room, bathroom with a combined bath and shower, a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining room with sofa bed, a table with four chairs, flat-screen satellite TV and CD player.

Suite Colombaio Media
Set on the panoramic hill of Dievole’s highest vineyard are the recently refurbished 200 year old farmhouses. This spacious suite of around 40 m2 has one twin bedroom, bathroom, a beautifully furnished living room with fully equipped kitchen, dining area, a sofa bed and satellite TV. All rooms have air conditioning.

Suite Colombaio Grande
Set on the panoramic hill of Dievole’s highest vineyard are the recently refurbished 200 year old farmhouses. This spacious suite of around 80 m2 has two twin bedrooms (one twin bedroom is smaller and has separated beds), two bathrooms, a beautifully furnished living room with fully equipped kitchen, dining area, a sofa bed and satellite TV. All rooms have air conditioning.

Suite Dievole “Novecento”
In the vast, luminous, 200 m2 Novecento Suite, you will be taken back to the days of the Florentine aristocracy. The suite has three bedrooms (one with king-size bed, one with twin beds and one with double bed), two bathrooms (one with bath and separate shower), a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a private balcony with sun loungers and a spacious living room with open fireplace, sofa, table and chairs, flat-screen satellite TV and CD player.

Casa Dievolino
A private guesthouse with high “cotto” (typical Tuscan ceramic) ceiling, furnished in Tuscan country style. This spacious property of more than 220 m2 comprises four bedrooms (2 with king-size beds), three bathrooms, a spacious living and dining room with sofa bed, leading on to an open kitchen (fully equipped), CD player and flat-screen satellite TV.

Restaurants & Bar: Clients at Dievole have a wide choice: every year our restaurant offers two themed nights: dinner in the historical wine cellar on Wednesdays and barbecue in the rose garden on Fridays. The restaurant menu changes at least once a week, always created using local and often organic produce. Our DOCG and IGT wines, our olive oil and home-made pastries are always to be found in our kitchen. From the Chianina to the Cinta Senese meats, from DOP Olive oil to organic cheeses, every dish is made with the attention to detail gained from years of experience.

Pools & Sports: There is no doubt that Tuscany is the perfect place for hiking and jogging. Back at the Hotel, after a refreshing shower, enjoy the silence and relax at Villa Dievole. Two sun-drenched pools with sun loungers and views of the Chianti hills as far as the eye can see, make a fitting background for total relaxation. Meetings & Events: Dievole has two conference rooms with a capacity of 45 persons for every kind of event: meetings, workshops, conferences, etc. Our years of experience have equipped us to accommodate every kind of workshop from painting and jewellery to photography. We have everything you need! We have over 20 years’ experience in this business and we pride ourselves on the personal service that we are able to offer to our clients.

Wine Interest & Activities
The Dievole Agricultural Company S.p.A. comprises 400 hectares of land, of which 85 are cultivated as vineyards. Our production ranges from the red IGT, Chianti Classico DOCG and Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG to products such as grappa, olive oil and Vin Santo. Since the 1980s our Villa, with the main building dating from the Renaissance, has been remodelled to offer our guests a “home from home” in Chianti.

We are delighted to inform our guests that we are joined by the world-renowned Tuscan author, Dario Castagno (www.dariocastagno.com). A former tour guide, Dario lives within walking distance of our vineyards in Vagliagli; from his home here he wrote his three witty books “Too Much Tuscan Sun”, “A Day in Tuscany” and “Too Much Tuscan Wine”.

We invite you to join us for a tour of the cellars led by our expert Gianni who will guide you through the cellars, introducing you with great enthusiasm to all the products of our vineyard. Along the way, Dario will regale you with anecdotes and facts about the home of Chianti Classico.

Spending a few hours with us is a fascinating experience that can leave incredible lasting effects. This is an experience for anyone who wants to discover not just the history, but the very soul of this ancient and noble region.

The tour commences at 5.00 pm at the winery terrace where Dario and Gianni will have the pleasure of greeting you with a welcoming goccetto (a little drop). They will then charm you through a series of educational wine tastings in our cellars. At the end of the tour you can enjoy an aperitif with Dario, who will be happy to sign his book and answer your questions. On request, the tour can be followed by a dinner at the Tavolo dei Maestri di Vigna, prepared and served by our staff.

Dievole is an enchanted valley and we are committed to finding the right people. All evaluations, from selecting mother vine stock and clones to vintage planning and innovation in vineyards and wine cellar, are determined by one single objective: uplifting standards in the hope of creating a good wine through character and quality.

Aspiring to perfection is second nature to us
Dievole viticulture dates back to the 11th century. The first step taken to cultivate this genetic legacy was to revisit the past found in the historical memory of the farming families. New masters of wine-growing were brought in to counter environmental uniformity and monotony. Its particolar type of terroir includes such ancient classics as Barsaglina, Aleatico, Foglia Tonda, Ciliegiolo, Prugnolo Gentile, Mammolo and Saragiolo. It also covers contemporary classics such as Canaiolo a Raspo Rosso, Malvasia Nera, Syrah, Petit Verdot and the various Sangiovese clones.

Location
Dievole estate lies 12 km north east of Siena, 1 km from the hamlet of Vagliagli. Vagliagli is an ancient village of XIII the century, situated to 511 meters of altitude, along the provincial road that leads to Radda in Chianti.

From North:
On the A1 highway take the FIRENZE CERTOSA exit and follow signs to Siena (SI-FI). Exit at SIENA NORD. At both the first and the second roundabout, turn left. After a few kms turn right in the direction VAGLIAGLI (SP102) and continue for about 8 km. Just before Vagliagli you will see the DIEVOLE sign in gold letters. Take the first right behind the sign and follow the cypress alley to DIEVOLE.

From South:
On the A1 highway take the VALDICHIANA exit. Keep on driving towards Siena then take the motorway towards FIRENZE. Exit at SIENA NORD. At both the first and the second roundabout, turn left.
