Located in the heart of Alentejo, set in a unique landscape defined by Vineyards and a lake, L’ AND Vineyards is an exclusive country club with only 22 suites integrating modern architecture with nature whilst providing an atmosphere of understated luxury, natural beauty, peace and tranquillity.

The resort is situated around a formal vine garden and a swimming pool commanding sublime views of the lake and Medieval hilltop castle of Montemor. At the central reception building a contemporary reinterpretation of Roman and Arabic atrium architecture creates a spacious living room, library, gift shop offering bespoke LANDMADE products. The building also houses our winery, the “wine club”, an 800m luxury spa, a courtyard restaurant and lobby lounge area.

The interiors were designed by groundbreaking Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan who created the space using natural stone, slate and wood with a unique set of art pieces, fabrics and furniture style.

At L’AND Vineyards our customers can literally sleep under the stars and marvel at the Alentejo night sky, with our private suite collection that offers retractable ceilings.

The resort is based on a unique concept of wine production and experience, allowing owner and guests to produce their own unique and completely personalize wine, with full support of a resident enologist.

Rooms: L’and Vineyards includes a boutique hotel with only 22 suites (Land view and sky view suites). Each of our suites cover 120m2 making for an exclusive retreat with an extraordinary view of the vine garden, lake and local landscape, a romantic and intimate atmosphere which includes a large outdoor terrace with fireplace and two private patios.

Ten of our suites (sky-view suites) allow the full opening of the bedroom ceiling and also integrate a private interior garden with heated “plunge pool”. Twelve suites (land-view suites) offer an extra room and some a Jacuzzi inside a private patio garden. Márcio Kogan’s plush decoration of the suites creates an atmosphere of tasteful luxury striving to achieve beauty through simplicity and the small details; the décor makes use of wood and natural stone to provide a serene yet sumptuous living space.

At L´and we seek to reinterpret the identity of the Portuguese cuisine, by highlighting season ingredients of regional origin – which are, in general, the produce of an organic and biodynamic agriculture.
Since Portuguese cuisine is also the outcome of the encounters of our culture with the cultures of the Far East – such as India, Thailand, China and Japan – part of our menu – East L´AND – is dedicated to this journey.
For each dish or menu, we suggest an appropriate wine or drink so that your experience may be as complete as possible.

If you enjoy wine and are interested in oenology, you may visit the local vineyards, attend courses, held at the resort cellar, about vines and wine production, participate in guided wine tasting sessions of regional and local wines and learn the principles of biodynamic winemaking.

The culture of wine and the viniculture is an important aspect of our identity. At our country club we cultivate typical Alentejo varieties using natural methods which express the unique terroir of the region and captures the flavour of the fertile landscape. A small winery built in the central building allows visitors, guests and residents to celebrate the art of wine and deepen their knowledge of wine culture. At L’AND a team of top winemakers are on hand to ensure that the bespoke wines produced express our identity and that members of the “wineclub” can successfully make their distinct style of wine each year.

L´AND Wine: L’AND only produces vintage wines in limited quantities, with an almost artisanal winemaking approach distinguished by its exceptional quality and a very distinctive identity reflecting the Alentejo terroir.

L’AND wines are only produced from national varieties from our own vineyards. The grape production is substantially reduced so as to concentrate the wine and increase the quality. Grapes are produced using natural biodynamic methods only using organic fertilisers and avoiding the use of excessive chemicals.

Therefore we hope that each wine is a pure expression of the local terroir and surrounding natural environment.

Each hand picked harvest comes with a rigorous grape selection and is bottled and packaged in high quality small quantity cases.

The vinification process is carried out at our winery with natural fermentation and traditional methods using very few chemicals or sulphites.

Visits & Wine Tastings: The L’AND winery culture actively promotes the flow of wine and winemaking from the Alentejo and is open daily for tours and exhibits from 11.00 to 17.00 except for Easter, Christmas and New Year.

L’AND WINERY organizes Alentejo wine tasting, winemaking courses and cultural and gastronomic events.
