Riberach is an exceptional establishment: the village of Bélesta’s former wine cooperative in the Roussillon has been entirely remodelled to allow the public to benefit from a top of the range hotel and gastronomic restaurant which preserves the site’s historical and viticultural character.
The former winery is divided into three parts: the vinification cellars of Domaine Riberach, the contemporary design Hotel with rooms inside and above the old wine vats, and the ‘La Coopérative’ restaurant that opens onto a Mediterranean garden and surrounding vineyards. Between sea and mountains, in this ex-cathedral of wine, wine tourism and wine tasting themed breaks are proposed: to be shared and above all to be savoured …

Rooms: More than a luxury hotel, Riberach Hotel is a ‘design’ establishment unique in the Roussillon offering 18 rooms, including 9 suites, inside and above the old vinification vats. Each room has been originally conceived to give a unique ambience: lighting, colours and materials affirm the austere aspect of the vats while reflecting a resolutely contemporary Mediterranean style. Terraces and gardens complete the absolutely unique setting.
All our rooms are equipped with a mini-bar, a safe, wired Internet access, flat screen TV and direct line telephone. Please note that one room has been specially adapted to receive people with reduced mobility.
Restaurant: In the heart of the wine cellar, 50 place settings are laid out where the old wine presses stood and where the harvest was once received. A large, shaded terrace opens out onto a hilly landscape and vineyards. Chef Laurent Lemal showcases fresh, seasonal produce and proposes an instinctive and contemporary style of Mediterranean-flavoured cooking in his restaurant “La Coopérative”.
Wine Interest & Activities
Dominating the Roussillon’s plain from 370 m in altitude, Bélesta de la Frontière is a reminder that Spain is never very far away. Here, from the heights of the Fenouillèdes massif, where the fresh Tramontane wind blows, with the Pyrenees in the background and the sea at its feet, vines have been cultivated from time immemorial.
Riberach, the men – Winemaker Jean-Michel Mailloles, cellar-master Patrick Rodrigues, sommelier Moritz Herzog, and architect and “spiritus rector” Luc Richard.
Riberach, an idea – Our wines express the ancestral culture of the region. To achieve this, we are dedicated to working with the Roussillon’s traditional grape varieties. Grenache, Syrah and Carignan have become our creed, to which we marry tradition, modernity and individuality in order to express the uniqueness and incomparable character of an unadulterated truth.
Riberach, the flavours – Each grape variety is presented to you in its naked simplicity in order to capture its own philosophy.
